The petitioner claiming to be the Steno Typist, employed under the Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Ltd, Karur/the second respondent herein, has approached this Court that the second respondent has erroneously credited a sum of Rs.7,37,430/- in his account and therefore, income tax was deducted at source on this amount. Therefore, he has submitted a representation to the second respondent and filed this writ petition for a Mandamus directing the second respondent to return the Tax deducted at source of Rs. 7,37,430/-, which was credited in his Savings Bank Account, by considering his representation, dated 12.12.2016. 2.Mr.M.P.Senthil, learned counsel takes notice for the respondents and submits that this amount has been credited only after deducting the tax. However, on mis-conception, the petitioner has made a representation and filed this writ petition. He further submits that the petitioner is an employee, who has been dismissed from the service. 2/5

3.However, the learned counsel for the petitioner, by disputing the same submits that the petitioner is not a dismissed employee and he is a retired employee.

4.This Court, considered the rival submissions made and also perused the materials placed on record.

5.Considering the limited prayer sought for by the petitioner, this Court, without expressing anything on the merits of the claim made by this petitioner, disposes of this writ petition with a direction to the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner and pass a detailed order within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
