JUDGMENT

This appeal has been filed by the appellant as against the judgment and conviction dated 01.12.2022 passed by the Special Court for Exclusive Trial of Cases under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, Thoothukudi in SplSC.No.40 of 2019. 2.By judgment dated 01.12.2022, the appellant has been found guilty for the offence under Section 8 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, convicted and sentenced to undergo three years rigorous imprisonment with a fine of Rs.20,000/- and in default to pay the fine, to undergo six months imprisonment. 3.The learned counsel for the appellant submits that the appellant has already undergone the sentence of three years imposed by the trial court and he has been released from prison. The learned Government Advocate (CrlSide) also confirmed the same.
