: Respondents PRAYER: Contempt Petition is filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, praying to call upon the contemnor for willful disobedience of the common order passed by this Court in W.P.(MD)No.14238 of 2016, dated 12.09.2016 and punish them in accordance with law.

Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court To issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 5 to take immediate steps to further the installation of idol in the newly constructed Mariyamman Temple at S.Siruvayal Village, Paramakudi Taluk, Ramanathapuram District, in Government Natham Promboke land comprised in survey No.489/1 by one of the groups under the leadership of respondent no.6 to 9, and their henchmen, to the exclusion of other groups.

[Order of the Court was made by M.V.MURALIDARAN, J.] The Contempt Petition is filed alleging that the order of this Court dated 12.09.2016, made in W.P.(MD)No.14238 of 2016, has not been complied with by the respondents.

2. A counter-affidavit was filed by the second respondent, in which, paragraph No.5, it is stated as follows: "5. It is humbly submitted that as per the order of this Hon'ble Court these Respondents have taken hectic steps and gave adequate police protection for the celebration of Kumbabishekam in Mariyamman Temple at Siruvayal Village, Paramakudi Taluk, Ramanathapuram District on 16.09.2016.
The whole Kumbabishekam celebration was under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent of Police with two Inspectors and more than 60 Police Officials have given necessary police protection of the Kumbabishekam celebration. Moreover, the Tahsildar, and the Village Administrative Officer were also present and monitor the Kumbabishekam celebration. At the time of Kumbabishekam the Contempt Petitioner and their men are also participated in the Kumbabishekam and it was celebrated in a peace manner without any hindrance."
3. Recording the above said statement, we close the Contempt Petition.
