PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider and to appoint the petitioner as 'Assistant Professor' in Government Engineering Colleges, based on her merit in future vacancies.

This Writ Petition is filed to direct the respondents to consider and to appoint the petitioner as 'Assistant Professor' in Government Engineering Colleges, based on her merit in future vacancies, within a stipulated time frame as fixed by this Court. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

According to the petitioner, she is qualified with B.E (Electrical and Electronic Engineering) and M.E (Applied Electronics) and she has applied for the post of Assistant Professors in Government Engineering Colleges, as per the Notification/Advertisement No.3/2014 dated 16.07.2014. Her name was short listed and she participated in Certificate verification before the third respondent on 19.01.2017. During the Certificate verification, the 3rd respondent officials had rejected her candidature, only on the ground that the Post Graduate Degree in M.E (Applied Electronics) could not be considered as equivalent subject for the post of Assistant Professor in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE). On 24.01.2017, the petitioner has submitted a detailed written representation to the third respondent. But no action has been taken by the third respondent so far. Hence, the petitioner has no other alternate other than to approach this Court by way of filing the present Writ petition.

Considering the nature of relief sought for in the Writ Petition and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, this Court directs the third respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 24.01.2017, on merits and pass appropriate orders, in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.

Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
