Respondents Prayer: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Certiorari, to call for the entire records in connection with the impugned G.O.(MS).No.142 Public Works (R2) Department dated 23.07.2014 of the first respondent and quash the same as it violates the fundamental rights of the petitioner.

Heard Mr.R.Maheswaran, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.J.K.Jayaselan, learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents 1, 2 & 4 and Mr.C.Nandagopal, learned counsel for the 3rd respondent.

2. The present Writ Petition had been filed challenging the Government Order in G.O.(MS).No.142 Public Works (R2) Department dated 23.07.2014.

2. This Court previously considered a challenge to the same Government Order in a batch of Writ Petitions in W.P.(MD)Nos.16458 of 2014, dated 22.12.2023. In the said writ petition, this Court taken into account various subsequent events, including a notification issued by the Central Ground Water Authority on September 24, 2020. Finally, the Court disposed of the Writ Petition by issuing a series of directions to the State Government, including a directive to adopt the guidelines outlined in the Government of India's notification dated 24.09.2020.

3. In view of the said orders, no further order is required to be made in the Writ Petition. Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands closed. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
