PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent to dispose the application No. Na.Ka.No.A1/5682/2025 dated 21.07.2025 which is pending before the 2nd respondent, to expedite disposal within a stipulated time period. 1/4

ORDER
The petitioner asserts that patta in relation to the land in survey numbers mentioned in paragraph No.2 of the affidavit stood in the name of his late father, K.Periyasamy. Upon his death on 24.07.2017, it is stated that he is survived by eight legal heirs, including the petitioner. Because the patta was transferred exclusively in the name of the petitioner's mother, the petitioner submitted an appeal before the Revenue Divisional Officer. By this writ petition, the petitioner seeks the expeditious disposal thereof. 2.Learned Government Advocate accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1 to 3. He submits that an inquiry would be conducted by putting all the legal heirs of late K.Periyasamy on notice and thereafter, a decision would be taken on merits.

3.In view of the above submissions of learned Government Advocate, it is unnecessary to issue notice to the 4th respondent in this writ petition. Instead, the writ petition is disposed of by directing the second respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's appeal dated 21.07.2025 after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner, the 4th respondent and the other legal heirs of the late K.Periyasamy within a period of 16 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
