(Order of the Court was made by R.MAHADEVAN, J.) The petitioner seeks for a direction to the respondents to rehabilitate and desilt the Vandiyur Kanmoi, on the basis of his representation dated 12.09.2017.

2. Heard Mr.S.T.Sasidharan Tamilkanu, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.S.P.Maharajan, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3. The petitioner expresses a grievance that there are encroachments in Vandiyur Kanmoi and on account of improper maintenance of the said kanmoi, the rain water does not remain stored to cater the needs of the local people. It is further alleged that despite representation dated 12.09.2017, submitted by the petitioner, respondents have not taken any action and thus, the present writ petition has been filed by the petitioner.

4. In response, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that the tank had been cleared of all the encroachments and that during the northeast monsoon, the tank attained its full storage capacity and now it is ready to receive rainfall in the forthcoming southwest monsoon.

5. Recording the said submission, this writ petition stands closed. However, it is always open to the petitioner to approach the authorities concerned, to redress his grievances, if any, in the manner known to law. No costs.
