PRAYER:- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents 1 to 4 to not to conduct the election of Sivagangai District Advocate Bar Election which is held on 12.09.2025 by considering the petitioner's representations dated 06.03.2025 and 04.09.2025. ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by DR.ANITA SUMANTH, J.) The petitioner seeks a mandamus directing R1 to R4 not to conduct election in Sivagangai District Advocate Bar, which was proposed to be held on 12.09.2025.

2. When the matter had come up before us on 11.09.2025, we have passed the following order:- 2/5

"Mr.K.R.Laxman, learned counsel accepts notice for R1, Mr.S.Srinivasa Raghavan, learned counsel accepts notice for R2 and Mr.K.Jeyamohan, learned counsel accepts notice for R3 and R4.

2. Learned counsel for R1 makes a categoric assertion to the effect that the members list has been updated prior to calling for elections and 276 members who have been found eligible are those who are part of the election process.

3. Mr.Srinivasa Raghavan, who appears for R2 would submit that the process had commenced in March, 2025 and had taken into account all appropriate procedures.

4. In light of the same, let short counters be filed by the respondents. List along with W.P.(MD) Nos. 20551 of 2021 & 4183 of 2024 on 24.09.2025. Counter by then with a copy served in advance upon the other side."

3. Today, Mr.Srinivasa Ragavan, learned counsel appears for the Election Officer, who was appointed to conduct the Elections of Sivagangai District Advocate Bar.

4. He states that the Election has been conducted on 12.09.2025, notification was issued declaring the successful candidates on 17.09.2025 and the new Team has also assumed office on 19.09.2025.

5. In fact, the petitioner in this writ petition has also participated in the Election and had secured third highest number of votes for the post of Secretary.

6. In light of the above, nothing survives in this Writ Petition, and the same is closed. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
