ORDER

Heard both sides.

2.The petitioner seeks re-issuance of passport. 3.The petitioner's application was not processed since the authorities came to know that the petitioner involved in a criminal case. Thereafter, the impugned show cause notice was also issued. In this background, the present writ petition came to be filed. 4.When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submitted that the petitioner was shown as an accused in crime No.97 of 2023 on the file of Nachiyarkoil Police Station. It is seen that the petitioner wanted to conduct a dharna for some public cause. The police have filed final report but the same is 2/4

yet to be taken on file. Considering the facts and circumstances, the petitioner's passport deserves to be renewed. 5.The first respondent is directed to re-issue passport to the petitioner subject to fulfilment of usual formalities. This writ petition is allowed. No costs.
