Prayer :- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioners representation dated 10.10.2023 of her brother namely Guru, S/o. Chinnaiah Thevar, C.P. No.4190, being eligible for premature release by G.O. (Ms) No.64 Home (Prison IV) Department dated 01.02.2018 and G.O. (Ms) No.488 Home (Prison IV) Department, dated 15.11.2021 and he has also been recommended Justice Adinarayanan Committee .
ORDER:- This Petition coming on for orders on this day and upon perusing the petition and the affidavit filed in support thereof and upon hearing the arguments of M/s. S.Prabha, Advocate for the Petitioner and of M/s.S.Ravi, Government Advocate for the respondents, this Court made the following order: The Writ Petition was disposed of by this Court vide order dated 06.11.2023, directing the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation on its own merits and in accordance with law. The matter is listed under the caption 'for report' today.
2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents submits that the petitioner's representation was considered and rejected by the Government vide G.O.(D).No.226, Home (Prison-IV) Department, dated 28.02.2024. 2/4
3. In view of the above submission, no further orders are required in the present Writ Petition and the petitioner herein is granted liberty to challenge the rejection order in the manner known to law.
