************ [Order of the Court was made by D.KRISHNAKUMAR, J.] This Writ Petition has been filed for a direction to the respondents to construct and open Primary Heath Centre in Uppur, Ramanathapuram District by considering the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 10.10.2017. 2.Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents submitted that the third respondent has filed a counter affidavit, in which it has been stated that as per the Government of India norms for every 30,000/- population, they have to create a new Primary Health Centre and the distance should be above 8 Kms from one Medical Health Centre to another Medical Health Centre. According to the respondents in Ramanathapuram District, already four Primary Health Centres are functioning in R.S.Mangalam 2/5
block namely R.S.Mangalam, Anandhur, Solandur and Thiruppalaikudi.
3.It is further submitted that the population of Uppur Village is only 946 and Uppur Health Sub Centre population is 6337. Also, Mobile Medical Unit is functioning in this area and it covers 6 villages in and around Uppur village, which is delivering adequate Primary Health Care Services. Therefore, as per the existing Government of India norms, it is not feasible to create a new Primary Health Centre at Uppur Village.
4.In view of the said statement made by the learned Government Advocate, we find that no merit in this Writ Petition. 5.Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs.
