The petitioner's passport was impounded by the respondents due to his involvement in the criminal case and therefore, the petitioner has filed this writ 1/3
petition for a writ of mandamus to revoke the cancellation of the passport and to reissue the passport to the petitioner.
2. Since there was no representation for the petitioner on 11.12.2023, it has been listed today under the caption for dismissal. There is no representation for the petitioner, despite the matter being listed under the caption 'for dismissal'. 3.The petitioner without challenging the cancellation, sought for a mandamus for re-issuance of passport. Such a prayer cannot be maintained. 4.Considering the nature of relief sought for in this writ petition, this writ petition is dismissed with liberty to challenge the cancellation order.
