Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to call for the records relating to the Na.Ka.No.718/camp/Kathuga/Alangulam/2025 dated 08.09.2025 passed by the 1st respondent and quash the same as illegal and consequently direct the second respondent to give permission and protection to perform the Aadal Paadal programme held on 11.09.2025 at 7.00 p.m to 11.00 p.m., in respect of the temple festival namely Shree Sudalai Madasamy Temple situated at Thuvarankadu Village, Alangulam Taluk, Tenkasi District. ORDER

The petitioner has filed this Writ Petition seeking issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to quash the proceedings of the first respondent dated 08.09.2025, and to consequently direct the second respondent to grant permission and provide protection for conducting the Aadal Paadal programme to be held on 11.09.2025 between 7.00 p.m. and 11.00 p.m., in connection with the temple festival of Shree Sudalai Madasamy Temple situated at Thuvarankadu Village, Alangulam Taluk, Tenkasi District.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that, in similar circumstances, this Court had permitted the conduct of Aadal Paadal programmes subject to certain conditions, and therefore, the impugned order rejecting the permission sought by the petitioner is liable to be set aside.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions, would submit that the respondents will consider the petitioner's request in accordance with the circular issued by the Director General of Police, Tamil Nadu, Chennai, in Rc.007301/Genl I (I)/2019, dated 09.04.2019, during the course of today (i.e., 10.09.2025).

4. Recording the above submission, this Writ Petition stands closed. No costs.
