Respondents PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of Mandamus restraining the respondents 4 to 6 from either transferring of otherwise interfering with the vested rights of the petitioner's villagers inhabitants of Kurunthankulam village, Seikalattur Panchayat, Manamadurai Taluk, Sivagangai District and consequently, enabling them to claim all the basic and other village amenities including establishment of Schools etc.

(Order of the Court was made by R.MAHADEVAN, J.) The petitioners have come forward with this writ petition praying to issue a writ of mandamus restraining the respondents 4 to 6, from either transferring or interfering with the vested rights of the inhabitants of Kurunthankulam village, Seikalattur Panchayat, Manamadurai Taluk,

Sivagangai District and consequently, enabling them to claim all the basic and other amenities, including establishment of Schools etc.

2. Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate, on instructions, submitted that the authorities are not inclined to acquire land for any purpose in the aforesaid village and to that effect, the learned Governance Advocate has also submitted a communication of the Revenue Divisional Officer, Manamadurai, dated 14.09.2022.
