PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 13.05.2024 with regard to issue patta to the petitioner's dwelling house in Natham Survey No.17 to an extent of 2.50 cents respectively situated at Rajendram South Village, Kulithalai Taluk, Karur District within the period that may be stipulated by this Court.

ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed for issuance of writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 13.05.2024, with regard to issuance of patta to the petitioner's dwelling house in Natham Survey No.17, to an extent of 2.50 cents, respectively 1/4

situated at Rajendram South Village, Kulithalai Taluk, Karur District within the period that may be stipulated by this Court.

2. With consent of both parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at he stage of admission itself.

3. The petitioner stated that the subject lands were classified as natham land in revenue record and she was in peaceful possession and enjoyment of the same for over 50 years. The petitioner applied for house site patta in the year 2017, for the subject natham land. As the respondent did not take any steps for issuance of the same, the petitioner submitted a representation on 13.05.2024 and even after receipt of the said representation, the respondents did not initiate any action for grant of patta and hence, the petitioner was constrained to file the Writ Petition for the aforesaid relief.

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader referring to the communication dated 29.06.2024, of the Tahsildar, Kulithalai, submitted that the proceedings were initated and therefore, reasonable time may be granted for considering the petitioner's representation for grant of patta.

5. In view of the said submission of the learned Additional 2/4

Government Pleader, a direction is issued to the respondents to complete the entire exercise and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law on the petitioner's representation dated 13.05.2024, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
