ORDER
This writ petition has been filed in the nature of Mandamus, seeking a direction to the the respondents 1 to 5 to take appropriate action against the respondents 9 and 10 for excommunicating the petitioner in St.Antony church, Kallakkudi and preventing the petitioner from performing the Religious customary duty in the festival, which is scheduled to be conducted on 09.01.2023, by considering the petitioner's representation, dated 10.10.2022.
2.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) would submit that the ninth respondent has already filed a petition in W.P(MD)No.28650 of 2022, seeking police protection for conducting Pongal Festival at Punitha Anthoniyar Church, situated at Kallakudi, Lalgudi Taluk, Trichy District, commencing from 09.01.2023 and to be celebrated until 18.01.2023 and this Court, considering the submissions made by the learned Counsel appeared on either side and also taking note of the undertaking given by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appeared for the respondents 1 to 3 therein, has passed an order directing the respondents 1 to 3 to pass suitable orders 3/7
immediately. In pursuance of the same, the third respondent has referred the matter to the Revenue Divisional Officer, Lalkudi, to convene a peace committee meeting.
3.The learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Counsels appearing for the respondents 6 to 10 would submit that they are ready to appear before the Revenue Divisional Officer, Lalkudi. 4.Recording the said submission, the second respondent is directed to conduct a peace committee meeting and pass orders in accordance with law, within a period of three days from today i.e., 05.01.2023. 5.With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of.
