ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition is filed to direct the 2nd Respondents herein not to harass the petitioners in the light of representation dated 15.09.2022.

2. Learned Government Advocate (Crl.) submitted that during the course of enquiry several vehicle owners and drivers have been summoned to find out the involvement of the vehicles and others. One among the above said vehicle owners is the petitioner herein, who is the driver cum owner of the vehicle bearing registration number TN 88 D 4979, suspecting their involvement.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that even though he appeared before the investigation officer with relevant documents and the CCTV footage shows that he has already crossed the occurrence place, the harassment continues. It is a hit and run case.

4. Learned Government Advocate submitted that suspecting the involvement of the petitioner's vehicle, enquiry was undertaken and there 2/4

was no harassment. A case has been registered in Crime No.25 of 2022 for the offences under Sections 279, 377 of IPC altered into Sections 279, 304(A) of IPC, dated 28.01.2022, so it is the duty of the respondent to find out the truth. The petitioner is directed to co-operate with the enquiry. If any trouble arises, the petitioner is at liberty to work out remedy through appropriate proceedings.

6. With this direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
