ORDER
The above writ petition is filed for a mandamus directing the 1st respondent to issue passport to the petitioner considering his application in A.No.MD2065453820125.
2. Mr.V.B.Sundhareshwar, learned Central Government Standing Counsel, takes notice on behalf of the 1st respondent. Mr.S.Prakash, learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) takes notice on behalf of the 2nd respondent.
3. The facts as set out in the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition are as follows:- The petitioner would submit that after completing his B.E., degree as he was unable to secure any suitable job, he was advised by his friends 2/6
that they could arrange a job for him abroad. In order to enable him to travel abroad, the petitioner made an application for issue of passport in A.No.MD2065453820125.
On 21.08.2025, he had received a communication from the 1st respondent stating that there was an adverse police verification against him. It was also stated that the case was pending before the 2nd respondent police in Cr.No.288 of 2025 for offences under Sections 189(2), 329(4), 296(b), 115(2), 118(1), 109(1), 351(3), 118(2) of BNS and Section 4 of TNPHW Act. The petitioner would submit that this is not a ground for rejecting the passport as provided under Section 6(2) (f) and (g) of the Passport Act. Therefore, he would seek a direction to the 1st respondent to issue the passport.
4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the 2nd respondent would submit that the petitioner is accused in an attempt to murder crime and investigation is underway and that the charge sheet has been e-filed into the court on 11.09.2025.
5. Heard the learned counsel on either side.

Considering the gravity of the offences for which the petitioner has been charged as an accused, it would be necessary to await the result of the investigation and till such time the petitioner's request for issue of passport can be kept in abeyance. The 2nd respondent is directed to expedite the investigation and submit the report at the earliest. As and when the clearance is given by the 2nd respondent, the 1st respondent shall issue passport to the petitioner.
7. The writ petition stands disposed of with the above observations. No costs.
