ORDER

The petitioners seek for quashing of the FIR in Crime No.245 of 2025 on the file of the first respondent for the alleged offences under Section 296(b), 118(1) and 351(3) of BNS, 2023.

2. The allegation in the FIR is that on 05.05.2025 at about 11.30 p.m, the petitioners had abused the defacto complainant using filthy language, attacked him and his brother with wooden stick and threatened them with dire consequence and thus committed the offence under Sections 296(b), 118(1) and 351(3) of BNS, 2023.

3.Admittedly, the petitioners and the second respondent are residing at same locality and the 1st and 2nd petitioners are B.E., students and they have now entered into a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo dated 9th September, 2025 and the scanned copy of the compromise memo reads as follows: 2/8

The petitioners namely, Yuvan Sankar @ Babu (Aadhar No.2251 8880 8503), Hariharan (Aadhar No.7811 2067 8349) and Praveen @ Pravinkumar(Aadhar No.7338 9478 1675) and the second respondent (Aadhar No.2525 6356 5690) are present before this Court in person. They are identified by M/s.G.Saraladevi, Head Constable-1242, Adhirampattinam Police Station, Thanjavur District. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

4. In view of the same and considering the nature of the offences and the relationship between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned FIR pending investigation. Accordingly, the impugned FIR in Crime No.245 of 2025 dated 07.05.2025 is quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. 17.09.2025 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes/ No PJL To
