PRAYER :- For Bail in Crime No.556/2020 on the file of the respondent police. ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioner/sole accused, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 16.09.2023 for the alleged offence punishable under Sections 382 of IPC in Crime No.556 of 2020, on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail. 2.The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner committed theft of 4 1⁄2 sovereigns of gold chain from the defacto complainant. Hence the case. 1/3

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would contend that the petitioner is innocent and he has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution. He would further submit that the petitioner is in custody from 16.09.2023,hence he seeks bail.

4.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent Police would submit that the petitioner committed theft of 4 1⁄2 sovereigns of gold chain from the defacto complainant. He would further submit that 30 similar previous cases are pending against the petitioner, hence he objected to grant bail to the petitioner.

5.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also considering the gravity of offence committed by the petitioner and also considering the previous bad antecedents of the petitioner , this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

6. Hence the petition stands dismissed.
