Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for the issuance of Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents 1 to 3 to grant Freedom Fighters Pension to the petitioner within the time frame stipulated by this Court. ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for a Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 3 to grant Freedom Fighters Pension to the petitioner within a stipulated time.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that originally, this writ petition has been filed by one R.Ponathal, claiming freedom fighters pension that her husband Rengiah is the freedom fighter. Pending this writ petition, she died on 19.03.2021. Therefore, the petitioner's son, namely, R.Thiyagarajan, is brought on record. 2/4

3. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 2 and 3 submits that the petitioner's husband Rengiah had submitted an application for freedom fighters pension. As he has failed to produce vital documents, his application was rejected by the Government by proceedings dated 16.05.2007.

4. In view of the same, this writ petition is closed with liberty to the petitioner to challenge the proceedings dated 16.05.2007 before the concerned authority. No costs.
