By consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. This petition has been filed, seeking a direction to the first respondent to calculate the left out 98 days in Earn Leave and Medical Leave period in the petitioner's entire service period and give the monetary benefits within a stipulated time on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 23.02.2017.
2. The case of the petitioner is that he joined Grade II Police Constable in the year 1972 and he was promoted as Head Constable in the year 1988 and retired on 31.07.2003. After retirement, the leave period was not regularised and the benefits are not settled to him. Hence, he made a representation on 23.02.2017 for settlement of some of the terminal benefits. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that it would suffice, if the representation of the petitioner dated 23.02.2017 is disposed of by the respondents at the earliest.

Per contra, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that during the pendency of the writ petition, the respondents, by order dated 04.03.2021 given reply to the petitioner and rejected the petitioner's request. Hence, the prayer sought for in this writ petition cannot be granted.
5. In view of the said rejection order, this writ petition stands dismissed. No costs. However, the petitioner is at liberty to work out his remedy in the manner known to law.
