ORDER

Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2.The petitioner seeks reissuance of passport. It is not in dispute that there is no criminal case pending against the petitioner. However, there appears to be some discrepancies regarding his date of birth. In the petitioner's school leaving certificate as well as other certificates, the date of birth is mentioned as 17.04.1959. However, in the passport his date of birth has been mentioned as 17.04.1957.

3.The first respondent is directed to enter the correct date of birth as found in the other records and as prayed for in his representation dated 12.10.2022. If there is no other impediment, the first respondent shall reissue the petitioner's passport after making the necessary changes in the date of birth as sought for by him. This exercise shall be completed as expeditiously as 2/4

possible. This writ petition is allowed on these terms. There shall be no order as to costs.
