PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the first and second respondents to renovate and reconstitute the present Karaikudi Kanadukathan Airport so as to facilitate Air travel by the peoples of the surrounding Districts such as Sivagangai, Pudukkottai and Ramanathapuram within Indian and also to Foreign Countries across the world by considering the petitioner's representation dated 16.08.2024 within a time frame stipulated by this Court. ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by M.S.RAMESH,J.) By consent of both sides, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

2. This Writ Petition has been filed for a mandamus to direct the first and second respondents to renovate and reconstitute the present Karaikudi Kanadukathan Airport so as to facilitate Air travel by the people of the surrounding Districts such as Sivagangai, Pudukkottai and Ramanathapuram

within Indian and also to Foreign Countries across the world by considering the petitioner's representation dated 16.08.2024 within a time frame stipulated by this Court.

3. When no in principle decision has been taken to re-open the Airport at Karaikudi, the question of renovating and reconstituting the Airport would not arise and hence, direction to the official respondents to consider the petitioner's representation is not warranted.

4. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs.
