Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the fifth respondent/Tahsildar to made suitable changes in the Revenue Records pertaining with the petitioner's land situated in survey no.261/7, 261/8 (Extension of land 2.55 Acres) at Lekkanayakanpatti Village, Marungapuri Taluk, Trichy by way of considering the petitioner's representation dated 02.08.2025.

According to the petitioner, he inherited 2.55 acres in survey Nos. 261/7 and 261/8 from his father. He further states that 80 cents in survey No.261/8 has been wrongly shown in the revenue records as being owned by the sixth respondent. After submitting a representation in this regard, the present Writ Petition has been filed.

2. Learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of respondents 1 to 5. He has placed on record an inquiry notice issued to 2/5

Mr.Pandian in relation to the same survey number. He submits that a comprehensive inquiry would be conducted by issuing notice to all the persons with interest in the land including the petitioner and that a decision would be taken on merits.

3. Accordingly, without making any observations on the merits, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the third respondent to conclude the inquiry and issue a speaking order after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner, sixth respondent and all other persons interested in the relevant land. This exercise shall be concluded within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
