O R D E R

The present Writ Petition has been filed by the wife of a deceased Special Grade Mazdoor of the respondent Transport Corporation seeking a Mandamus for payment of interest for the belated disbursement of terminal benefits.

2. According to the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, the petitioner's husband had passed away on 27.11.2019 while he was in service. But the terminal benefits were released belatedly. Therefore, the petitioner has sent a representation on 25.10.2024 to the respondents seeking interest for the belated disbursement. Since there is no response, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents. 2/4

Considering the above said facts, the respondents herein are directed to pay the interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated disbursement of terminal benefits from the due date till the date of realization, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
