ORDER

Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. The petitioner joined three years law course conducted by the third respondent in the year 2014-15. Her academic year came to end in the year 2017. On account of her marriage, the petitioner could not continue her studies. The petitioner now wants to write the supplementary examination. The petitioner's counsel states that out of 13 papers, the petitioner has cleared 11 papers. If she is allowed to write the remaining two papers namely company law and constitutional law, she will be able to obtain law degree. Since she has been prevented from doing so, the present writ petitioner came to be filed.

3. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned standing counsel produced the copy of E-mail communication sent to the petitioner on 1.11.2023. It reads as follows:- "Respected Sir, This is to inform that the candidate Rahini R Reg No. 314C0721 has informed that she got readmitted to the 6th semester in the academic year 2019. On verifying our records the candidate has written the 6th (Final) semester papers in May 2019 examinations. So the N+2 UGC's Uniform span 2/4

regulations will be applied and the May 2023 Examinations was the last attempt for the Candidate. So she is not permitted to write the examinations as per UGC norms of N +2 Uniform span period."

4. Since the stand of the respondents is in consonance with the statutory regulation, it is not possible for this Court to grant relief. It is open to the petitioner to approach the competent authority for relaxation.

5. With this liberty to the petitioner, the writ petition is dismissed. No costs.
