O R D E R

The instant writ petition has been filed by a retired employee of the respondent Transport Corporation, seeking a mandamus directing the respondents to settle interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated payment of his Surrender Leave Salary.

2. According to the learned Counsel appearing for the writ petitioner, the petitioner was joined in the respondent Transport Corporation on 06.01.1987, and he had attained superannuation on 31.01.2023. The surrender leave salary was not disbursed to the petitioner. Hence, he sent a representation on 05.11.2024, seeking to pay the surrender leave salary along with interest. Since, there is no response from the respondent authorities, the present writ petition has been filed.

Considering the above said facts, the respondents Transport Corporation are directed to pay the surrender leave salary along with interest at the rate of 6% from the due date till the date of disbursement within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a receipt of a copy of this order.

4.With the above said observations, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
