Respondent Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to pay the petitioner interest at the rate of 18% per annum, for the period of delay from 01.08.2022 to 30.05.2022, in paying the amounts paid towards his terminal benefits, namely, EPF Employee's Contribution, Gratuity and Encashment of Leaves / Already Surrendered Earned Leaves within a time frame as may be fixed by this Court and without affecting his right to claim balance amounts towards those benefits.

ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed by a Special Grade Conductor of the respondent Transport Corporation, who attained superannuation on 31.07.2022.

2. According to the writ petitioner, his terminal benefits were released only on 30.05.2023. Hence, he has sent a representation on 17.08.2023 seeking interest for the belated payment of terminal benefits.

3. In view of the above said facts, the respondent herein is directed to pay 6% interest from 01.08.2022 till 29.05.2023 shall be disbursed within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above said observation, this writ petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
