Heard both sides.

2. The petition mentioned property has been assessed to the house tax in the name of Kumarasamy. Kumarasamy has executed the settlement deed dated 02.01.2023 in favour of the writ petitioner. It has also been registered as Document No.1 of 2023. The petitioner wants mutation of the assessment record in his name. The petitioner is directed to present the settlement deed standing in his name. If the assessment was in the name of the settlor and the settlement deed is found to be true and genuine, then the assessment register has to be accordingly mutated. It is open to the authority concerned to enquire the writ petitioner's father also to confirm the genuineness of the settlement deed and also the fact that it has been acted upon.

3. With the aforesaid direction to the authority concerned, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
