ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition is filed seeking to quash the first Information Report in Crime No.82 of 2022, dated 07.03.2022 on the file of the first respondent Police, which was registered for the offences under Sections 147, 148, 294(b), 323, 324 and 506(ii) of IPC. 2.The gist of the allegation in the FIR is that on account of prior enmity, the petitioners attacked the defacto complainant with knife and sticks, besides committing the offence of criminal intimidation and thus, committed the aforesaid offences.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned counsel for the defacto complainant/the second respondent would submit that the parties have now entered into a compromise on the advise of the elders and well-wishers and both the parties have agreed that the impugned F.I.R may be quashed.

4.The parties have also filed a joint compromise memo dated 10.09.2025. The scanned copy of the compromise memo reads as follows:

5.The petitioners, namely, Kalidoss @ Kalidasan (Aadhaar No. 6728 1210 4293), Ramkumar @ Bamkumar (Aadhaar No.2551 1391 8363), Shoban (Aadhaar No.7590 2217 4758), Angulin @ Vivek (Aadhaar No.8451 5196 2581), Pradeep (Aadhaar No.5265 4838 5410), Sethu @ Sethupathi (Aadhaar No.3547 9149 7754), Ranjith @ Ranjithkannan (Aadhaar No.3015 9222 7947), and the second respondent, namely, Francis Sasikumar (Aadhaar No.2126 0437 2571) are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Mr.R.Senthilkumar, HC 3022, Thiruverambur Police Station, Trichy 6/9

District. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

6.Considering the nature of the offences and the fact that the parties have arrived at a compromise, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned FIR pending investigation. Accordingly, the impugned FIR in Crime No.82 of 2022, on the file of the first respondent police, is quashed. The petitioners shall pay a sum of Rs.10,000/- as costs to the Mediation and Conciliation Centre attached to the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court forthwith and file a photocopy of the receipt along with a memo reporting compliance in the Registry.
