Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents herein to grant permission to provide police protection to conduct the 'Karakatta Nikalchi' Programme on 14.09.2025 at about 07.00 pm., to 10.00 p.m, in pursuant to the festival of Arulmigu Sri Syamala Devi Amman Temple, situated at Thottakadu Village, Thanjavur Taluk, Thanjavur District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 03.09.2025. ORDER

The Writ Petition is filed for Mandamus to direct the respondents to grant permission and provide police protection to conduct 'Karakatta Nikalchi' Programme on 14.09.2025 at about 07.00 pm., to 10.00 p.m, at Arulmigu Sri Syamala Devi Amman Temple, situated at Thottakadu Village, Thanjavur Taluk, Thanjavur District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 03.09.2025.

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions, would submit that the petitioner's representation would be considered in accordance with the Circular issued by the Director General of Police in Rc.007301/ Genl.I(1)/2019 dated 09.04.2019 and the order so passed would be communicated to the petitioner before 13.09.2025.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner undertakes that the petitioner would not be performing any act, which are obscene or that would promote enmity between two groups of people.

4. In view of the submission made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner and respond to the same on or before 13.09.2025.

5. With the above observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
