By asserting that the petitioner's mother, Vairi @ Latchumiammal, was issued patta No.1253 in the year 1996 for a property in old survey No.116/2, the petitioner claims that he is in possession of such property and is paying house tax. According to the petitioner, he recently came to know that the patta issued to his mother was cancelled and that patta has been issued instead to the fourth respondent herein.

2. Learned Government Advocate accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1 to 3. By relying upon the written instructions, he submits that only patta Nos.1 to 1198 were issued under 'Natham scheme'. Therefore, he submits that the patta relied on by the petitioner may not be genuine. Without prejudice, he submits that the petitioner's request would be examined by conducting an inquiry and that a decision would be taken.

3. In view of the above submissions, it is unnecessary to issue notice to the fourth respondent in this Writ Petition. Instead, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the Revenue Divisional Officer to consider and dispose of the petitioner's request after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner, fourth respondent and any other persons who would be affected by such proceedings. Entire exercise shall be concluded within a period of three (3) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
