ORDER

This petition has been filed to direct the learned District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate, Iluppur, to dispose the case in C.C.No.14 of 2024 within a stipulated time frame as fixed by this Court.

2. The petitioner is facing trial for the offences punishable under Sections 294(b), 323, 324, 506(ii) of IPC and Section 4 of TNPHW Act, 2002 and is working as Head Clerk in the office of the District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate Court, Illuppur, has sought for speedy disposal of the case pending against him in the same Magistrate.

3. The Honourable Supreme Court in the case of High Court Bar Association, Allahabad v. State of U.P. and Others [(2024) 2 SCR 946] has held that there cannot be any direction fixing a time limit for conclusion of the trial. However, considering the fact that the petitioner's career is affected due to the pendency of the case, the learned District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate, Iluppur, shall consider the disposal of the trial in C.C.No.14 of 2024 as expeditiously as possible.

4. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
