Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to pay the 6 percentage interest on the delayed payment of retirement benefits paid to the petitioner from the date of his retirement i.e.02.02.2019 to actual payment made on 28.03.2025, in view of the petitioners representation dated 30.07.2025.

This writ petition has been filed for a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to pay the 6 percentage interest on the delayed payment of retirement benefits paid to the petitioner from the date of his retirement i.e.02.02.2019 to actual payment made on 28.03.2025, in view of the petitioners representation dated 30.07.2025.

2. Considering the admitted fact that there has been a delay in payment, the petitioner is entitled to statutory interest as provided under law.

3. In view of the same, the writ petition stands disposed of. The respondents are directed to pay interest at the rate of 6% per annum on the belated terminal benefits payable to the petitioner from the date of his entitlement till the date of his payment within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
