This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents to give alternative work to him based on petitioner's representation, dated 03.12.2022 after subjecting him before the Medical Board.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is working as a Driver in the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation Limited and joined as a casual labour in the year 1996 and thereafter, his service was regularised in the year 1997. After completion of 26 years service, due to his illness, he was not able to perform his duty to the satisfaction of the Higher Authorities and he is frequently suffered with health issues, thereby the petitioner made a representation, dated 03.12.2022 for providing the light duty or alternative employment. However, till date the same was not considered and hence, the present writ petition is filed with the aforesaid prayer.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that this Court may issue a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 03.12.2022 within a reasonable time as fixed by this Court.

4. Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court directs the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 03.12.2022 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
