ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st and 2nd respondents to dispose the petitioner's application in Application No.2024/0103/15/426741 dated 10.08.2024 pending before him within time frame as fixed by this Hon'ble Court.

2. With consent of both parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The petitioner purchased the property in S.F.No.230/2 in Elamanam Village, Manapparai Taluk, Trichy District, under a Document No.1574 of 1997 dated 11.07.1997. The petitioner applied for transfer of patta in his name on 10.08.2024, but, the second respondent did not act on his application. The petitioner therefore submitted a representation to the first respondent on 18.10.2024 but the first respondent did not initiate any action. Therefore, the petitioner was constrained to file this Writ Petition for the aforesaid relief.

4. Considering the fact that the petitioner's application dated 10.08.2024 for transfer of patta is pending for nearly four months, I am inclined to issue a direction. Accordingly, the first respondent is directed to dispose of the petitioner's application on merits, in accordance with law and in strict compliance with the provisions of the Patta Passbook Act, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
