..Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records of the impugned order made in No.28178/S2/2025 dated 18.08.2025 by the 1st respondent and consequently directs the respondents to renew the registration of our sangam named Madurai Muthuraiyar Pothunala Sangam (Reg.No.035/2001) without insisting the production of annual audit reports from the year 2001 to 2022. 1/5

ORDER

The writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records relating to the impugned order in No.28178/S2/2025 dated 18.08.2025 passed by the first respondent and to quash the same. The petitioner further seeks a consequential direction to the respondents to renew the registration of the petitioner Sangam, Madurai Muthuraiyar Pothunala Sangam (Reg.No. 035/2001), without insisting on the production of annual audit reports for the years 2001 to 2022.

2. A counter affidavit has been filed by the respondents.

3. On perusal of the counter affidavit, the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is willing to comply with the condition stated in paragraph 7(ix) of the counter affidavit. The said paragraph reads as follows:

"7(ix) I submit that though the petitioner has not submitted those documents for 22 financial years, from 2001 to 2022, they can get the approval of the income and expenditure for the entire 22 years, audited by a Chartered Accountant in a single General Body Meeting and they can very well submit such a copy of resolution with audited income and expenditure, to get the Sangam renewed, if he is competent to do so, as per the byelaw of the said society."

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner will convene a single General Body Meeting for approval of the audited income and expenditure statements and thereafter submit a fresh request for renewal of the Sangam registration.

In view of the above submission, the petitioner is permitted to convene a single General Body Meeting to approve the consolidated audit report prepared by the Chartered Accountant for the financial years 2001 to 2022. Upon submission of the resolution of the General Body Meeting along with the consolidated audited statements, the petitioner shall make a fresh request for renewal of the Sangam registration. On receipt of such request, the respondents shall consider the same in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders, without raising objections inconsistent with the undertaking given in paragraph 7(ix) of the counter affidavit. 3/5

6. With the above directions, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
