ORDER

The petitioner seeks quashing of the FIR in Crime No.637 of 2025 on the file of the first respondent, for the alleged offences under 296(b), 115(2), 351(2), 326(g), 62 of BNS Act, 2023 and Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2002.

2. The defacto complainant is the wife of the petitioner. The allegation in the FIR is that on account of prior enmity, the petitioner came to the shop run by the defacto complainant, abused her in filthy language and attacked her besides pouring petrol on her.

3. The learned counsel for the defacto complainant would submit that the parties have now entered into a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo and the scanned copy of the compromise memo reads as follows: 2/6

4. The petitioner, namely M.Senthil Kumar (Aadhar No.9250 0004 2911) and the defacto complainant, namely Bhuvaneswari (Aadhar No.6582 4752 7696) are present before this Court in person. They are identified by 4/6

Mr.V.Sarathkumar, Sub Inspector of Police, Town North Police Station, Dindigul District. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

In view of the same and considering the nature of the offences and the relationship between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned FIR pending investigation. Accordingly, the impugned FIR in Crime No.637 of 2025 dated 17.08.2025 is quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. 17.09.2025 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes/ No Sn To 1.The Inspector of Police, Dindigul Town North Police Station, Dindigul District.
