ORDER
The petitioner sent a representation on 11.10.2024, requesting adequate police protection to conduct a survey of his land. The petitioner is the owner of property located at Natham Survey No.333A/7B, measuring 5559 sq.ft., in Idaiyathi North Revenue Village, Thiruvonam Taluk, Thanjavur District. The petitioner purchased the property on 27.09.2021, under Document No.1464 of 2021. The petitioner paid the necessary fees for the subdivision of his Patta, and the revenue authorities issued a Patta in the petitioner's name under Patta No.2781. The petitioner also paid the fee for the survey and boundary demarcation of the property on 11.08.2023.
2. On 20.09.2023, the surveying authorities issued notices to the adjacent landowners and joint pattadars. However, due to objections raised by them, the survey could not be conducted. Despite several requests made by the petitioner to the concerned officials, the survey could not proceed due to these objections. Fearing further obstruction, the petitioner filed this Writ Petition after sending a representation. 2/5
3. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) for the first respondent submitted that the adjacent landowner and joint pattadhar, Jayakumar, was called for enquiry. During the enquiry, Jayakumar gave an undertaking that he would not obstruct the survey and would participate in it.
4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the second respondent submitted that the survey has now been scheduled for 18.12.2024. Notices have been sent to both the petitioner and the adjacent landowners, and the survey will proceed on the specified date.
5. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) appearing for the first respondent submitted that the respondent police have received this communication and will provide adequate police protection and security to ensure the survey is conducted without obstruction.
6. Recording the above said submissions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
