ORDER

The petitioners seek to quash the impugned Charge Sheet in C.C.No.177 of 2023, on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate, Karaikudi, which was filed for the offences under Sections 294(b), 323, 363, 506(2) and 326 IPC.

2.The allegation in the charge sheet is that on account of prior enmity, the petitioners attacked the defacto complainant, causing grievous injury and also threatened him with dire consequences and thus, committed the aforesaid offences.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned counsel for the defacto complainant/the second respondent would submit that the parties have now entered into a compromise on the advise of the elders and well-wishers and both the parties have agreed that the impugned final report may be quashed.

4.The parties have also filed a joint compromise memo dated 17.09.2025. The scanned copy of the compromise memo reads as follows:

5.The petitioners, namely, Manikandan (Aadhaar No.2794 6986 4302), Chellaiah (Aadhaar No.6109 6293 2686), Viswanathan (Aadhaar No.9137 3241 0855) and the second respondent, namely, Ramaraj (Aadhaar No.3426 9525 8076) are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Mr.S.Justin Soosai Manickam, Special Sub Inspector of Police, Karaikudi North Police Station, Sivagangai District. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them. 6.Considering the nature of the offences and the fact that the parties have arrived at a compromise, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned charge sheet pending trial. Accordingly, the impugned charge sheet in C.C.No.177 of 2023, on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate, Karaikudi, is quashed.

The petitioners shall pay a sum of Rs.10,000/- to the High Court Legal Service Authority attached to this Bench, forthwith and file a photocopy of the receipt along with a memo reporting compliance in the Registry. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. 22.09.
