Heard the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the official respondents.

2. Issuance of notice to the private respondents is dispensed with.

3. The petitioner is a resident of Ariyavoor Village. He alleges that in the petition-mentioned water bodies, there are encroachments and that some persons are even attempting to form a layout. Some of them have put up constructions. The learned Special Government Pleader confirms that the petition-mentioned survey numbers have been classified as tanks in "A" Register.

4. We direct the official respondents to take effective action so that the encroachments are cleared. The entire exercise shall be completed within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The official respondents shall put all the 3/5
