Heard both sides.

2. It is not in dispute that through the petition-mentioned survey numbers, a channel is seen to run. The petitioner alleges that there are encroachments. He wants the same to be cleared and the water channels should be restored and maintained as such.

3. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Special Government Pleader on instructions from the Tahsildar, Nilakkottai submitted that the survey is to be held on 30.12.2024.

4. We direct the respondents to maintain the integrity of the water body as seen in the revenue record as such. This writ petition stands allowed accordingly. No costs.
