Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 3rd and 4th Respondents to grant permission to the petitioner for fishing in the lake namely, Udaikulam Lake situated at Ayanpappankudi Village, Madurai District, on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 20.10.2022. ORDER

Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2.The petitioner seeks permission to fish in the petition mentioned water body. The learned counsel for the petitioner states that the petitioner is even ready to take part in any tender, if it is conducted. The petitioner has given a representation dated 20.10.2022 in this regard. It is for the District Collector to take a call in the matter. This Court cannot compel the first respondent to bring the fishery right to auction. The decision is left entirely to the discretion of the first respondent.
