PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent Nos.1 and 2 to conclude the enquiry proceedings pending on the file of them in light of the communication made by the 3rd respondent in Na.Ka. No.1691/2022/Aa1 dated 24.07.2025 and to issue patta in the name of the petitioner for his agricultural lands in Survey Nos.1978/1A, 1978/1B, 1959/2A, 1959/2B, 1929, 1996/3, 1925, 1966/1D and 1930 to an extent of 11 acres of lands in Yeathakovil, Aundipatti Village and Taluk, Theni District. 1/4

ORDER

The petitioner had applied for issuance of patta in the year 2021 by relying on the registered sale deed bearing document No.3175 of 2021. Since action was not taken thereon, the petitioner filed WP(MD)No.30040 of 2023, which was disposed of on 18.12.2023 by directing that an inquiry be conducted and a decision taken. By relying on the communication dated 24.07.2025 from the Tahsildar to learned counsel for the petitioner, learned counsel submits that a direction may be issued for the expeditious conclusion of such inquiry. 2.Learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of all the respondents. He submits that the mattter is pending before the first respondent and that the inquiry would be concluded within 8 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

3.In view of the above submissions of learned Additional Government Pleader, without making any observations on the merits, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the first respondent to conclude the inquiry and issue a 2/4

speaking order within eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner and all other persons who would be affected by such order.
