O R D E R
By stating that the petitioner's father Muthaiya and his brother Periyasamy jointly purchased several properties including the property in Town Survey No.16, after submitting a representation seeking a separate patta, the present writ petition has been filed.
2. Learned Government Advocate accepts notice on behalf of the sole respondent. He refers to a communication from the Tahsildar to the petitioner stating that an online application enclosing relevant documents should be submitted. If the said process is followed, he submits that the application would be considered and disposed of within twelve weeks from the date of receipt thereof.
3. In view of the above submissions, this writ petition is disposed of on the following terms:
(i) Within one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, the petitioner is directed to submit an online application seeking a separate patta by enclosing all material documents; and 2/4
(ii) Within twelve weeks from the date of receipt of such application, the Tahsildar shall pass orders thereon on merits after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner, the joint pattadhar or their legal heirs, if appropriate.
There shall be no order as to costs.
