PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to dispose of the petition, dated 25.10.2024 filed by the petitioner within the time stipulated by this Court.

The writ petition is filed for a direction to the respondents to dispose of the petition filed by the petitioner, dated 25.10.2024.

2. The petitioner purchased the properties in S.Nos.283/1, 283/2, 299/1 and 299/2 to an extent of 3 acres 45 1/2 cents (western portion) at Nilakottai Taluk, Dindigul District under sale deed, dated 20.10.1993 and he issued patta in Patta No.7456. The extent of property was erroneously mentioned as 2 acres 66 cents instead of 3 acres 45 1/2 cents in the patta issued to the petitioner. As the second respondent issued patta in violation of provisions of the Tamil Nadu Patta Passbook Act, the petitioner sent a representation to the second respondent on 17.08.2021. But as the second respondent did not act on the petitioner's representation, the petitioner again sent a representation on 25.10.2024 to the first respondent. As the respondents did not act on the petitioner's representation, the petitioner filed the above writ petition for the aforesaid relief.

3. It is seen that the petitioner sent a representation to the first respondent on 25.10.2024, and also sent a representation to the Thasildar as early as on 2/4

17.08.2021, but they did not act on the petitioner's representation. As 3 years have lapsed since the date of the representation to the second respondent, I am inclined to issue direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 17.08.2021, on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
