Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. All that the petitioner seeks is disposal of the appeal filed by his father before the respondent. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner draws my attention to the communication dated 04.02.2018 which states that the file has been forwarded to the jurisdictional Revenue Divisional Officer. As rightly pointed out by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, the District Revenue Officer is the authority competent to correct the UDR errors. Therefore, I permit the petitioner to file a fresh petition before the respondent. The respondent is directed to dispose of the same on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of such petition. I make it clear that I have not gone into the merits of the matter. It is open to the respondent to pass order one way or the other. This writ petition is disposed of accordingly.
