PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 5 to monitor the Mandala Pooja for Sri Vilvanathar Samedha Sri Nithyakalyani Ambigai situated near Melakadaladi on 03.01.2023 or any other subsequent dates without any special honour to any one by providing adequate police protection. O R D E R

The writ petitioner filed this Writ Petition seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 5 to monitor the Mandala Pooja for Sri Vilvanathar Samedha Sri Nithyakalyani Ambigai situated near Melakadaladi on 03.01.2023 or any other subsequent dates without any special honour to any one by providing adequate police protection.

2. Mr.E.Antony Sahaya Prabahar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor takes notice for the respondents. By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 2/5

3. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the State would submit that the rival claimant has also sought permission for conducting Mandala Pooja and hence, peace committee meeting was convened by the Thasildhar, but no compromise was entered into between the parties. He would further submit that the petitioner's representation, dated 09.12.2022 is pending.

4. Recording the statement made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, the fifth respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 10.12.2022 and pass orders in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible.

5. With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
