The Joint Commissioner of Labour, Labour Department, Sengulam Colony, Tiruchirapalli-620 020 is suo motu impleaded as the fifth respondent in the writ petition.

2. The present writ petition has been filed seeking a Mandamus to dispose of the appeal pending on the file of the fifth respondent herein.

3. A perusal of the records reveal that the petitioner's appeal under the Tamil Nadu Payment of Subsistence Allowance Act, 1981 was initially taken up by the third respondent and later, it has been transferred to the fifth respondent herein is pending for the past one year without any progress. Hence, the present writ petition.

4. The fifth respondent herein is directed to dispose of the appeal on or before 31.10.2025.

5. With the above said observations, this writ petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
